Students complete a show and tell type activity where they present an item of importance to them. the context and subtext are listed by the class and the student then takes ideas surrounding a sub-textual theme and isolates it for a collage.

Students Begin One Point Perspective

Students will be taught to use a vanishing point to demonstrate one point perspective by drawing image of a school hallway. Once hallway is drawn students will trace pencil lines in marker and erase pencil. Vocabulary includes parallel lines, recede, converge, vanishing point, and foreshorten.

10/11 Sketchbook Homework

Students must complete three full page landscapes, showing a horizon line, and techniques that emphasis depth, such as smaller objects closer to the horizon line or lighter colors on areas that recede. Due Friday 10/14/2011.

Students begin Aerial Perspective

Students learn concepts surrounding aerial perspective and terminology including "Horizon Line". In order to produce illusion of depth students should show a reduction in size of objects that are further away, a light color for objects further away, and objects in the distance should be placed closer to the horizon line.

Students will create landscapes from imagery based on these details.
